What the crawler checks
The same kind of technical checks professionals run before they touch a website.
Broken links and errors
Finds internal and external links that return 4xx, 5xx or no response, and shows the page each one was found on.
Redirects and chains
Lists every redirect with its final destination, and flags chains that waste crawl budget.
Page titles
Spots missing, duplicate, too long and too short titles.
Meta descriptions
Checks every page for missing, duplicate and badly sized descriptions.
Headings
Finds pages with no H1, several H1 headings or the same H1 as another page.
Images
Reports broken images and images without alt text.
Indexability
Shows noindex, canonical and X-Robots-Tag settings, so you know which pages can rank.
Duplicate pages
Groups pages that contain exactly the same content.
robots.txt checker
Reads your robots.txt, lists the sitemaps in it and shows which URLs it blocks.
XML sitemap generator
Downloads a ready sitemap of every indexable page the crawl found.
Near-duplicate content
Finds pages that are almost the same as another page, not only exact copies.
hreflang audit
Checks language tags: valid codes, self-references, return links and broken targets.
Structured data
Reads JSON-LD and microdata, and warns about missing fields for Article, Product, FAQ and more.
Accessibility basics
Spots empty links, unlabeled form fields, skipped headings, missing language and blocked zoom.
Speed test
Runs Google PageSpeed Insights on any crawled page for mobile and desktop, with fixes in plain English.
Spelling and grammar
Checks the text of any crawled page for typos and grammar mistakes.
Redirect rules maker
Turns redirect chains and broken pages into rules you can paste into .htaccess or Nginx.
Title and description editor
Rewrite weak page text with a live Google preview, then download the changes as a CSV.
Save and compare
Keep a report for 30 days, crawl again after your fixes, and see exactly what improved.
Shareable report
Send a private link to a client or save the report as a PDF. No account needed.
How it works

Enter your website
Type the address of the website you want to check and press start.
-
We crawl it politely
Pages are fetched one at a time, up to 500 per run, with robots.txt respected and a short pause between requests.
-
Fix and export
Start with the Fix these first list, share the report with a client, download CSV or an XML sitemap, then crawl again and compare.
On the way
These features are planned and are not available yet. They need a login or a different kind of server.
- Search Console and Analytics
- Scheduled crawls by email
- JavaScript rendering
Frequently asked questions
Is TechSEO really free?
Yes. There is no signup, no payment and no software to install. To keep the service fast for everyone, each crawl has a page limit and each visitor can run a limited number of crawls per hour.
How many pages can I crawl?
Each crawl checks up to 500 HTML pages, plus the images, files and external links found on them.
Does the crawler respect robots.txt?
Yes. TechSEO reads the robots.txt file of the website and does not fetch pages that file blocks. You can also see exactly which URLs were blocked in the robots.txt report.
Will the crawl slow down my website?
No. The crawler fetches one page at a time with a short pause between requests, which is far gentler than a typical search engine bot.
Do you keep my crawl data?
Results are kept for 7 days and then deleted automatically. Press "Save this report" to keep one longer. Only someone who has your private results link can open it.
How do I check if my fixes worked?
Save the first report, fix the problems, crawl the website again and open the Compare tab. It shows which issues went away, which are new and which pages appeared or disappeared.
How does the speed test work?
It uses Google PageSpeed Insights, the same engine behind Lighthouse. Pick a page from your crawl and test it for mobile or desktop. A test takes about half a minute.
Can it crawl pages that need JavaScript to show their content?
Not yet. The crawler reads the HTML that your server sends, the same first step search engines take. Content that only appears after JavaScript runs will not be seen.
Why do some links show 403 or 999 errors?
Some websites, including social networks, refuse automated requests and answer with an error even though the page works in a browser. Open the link yourself to confirm before you fix it.
